The singer, songwriter, and music producer – Shiraz Uppal – has sustained a commercial presence ever since he launched his music career at the start of the millennium, whether on his own chart-topping releases or through a long list of artists and original scores that he has worked his magic on. With every one of his four album releases over a decade, ‘Tu Hai Meri’ (2001), ‘Tere Tay Mera’ (2003), Jhuki Jhuki (2005), and ‘Ankahi’ (2009) – Uppal received praise for his fresh and dynamic approach to music.

Operating from his own studio in Lahore, he has worked with musical giants such as Atif Aslam, Noori, JAL and Fariha Pervaiz to name a few. Alongside, Uppal has been a familiar name as a playback singer for various Bollywood movies and kept busy last year contributing to local cinema on films such as ‘3 Bahadur’, ‘Bin Roye’ and ‘Karachi Se Lahore’.

In 2016, Shiraz Uppal will make his debut on Coke Studio, Season 9 as one of the music directors on several tracks with a varied lineup of artists. He will also feature as a singer in a duet in which he has provided one of the lead voices.
